Job Overview
The Full Time Shift Lead supports the Hospitality Lead by ensuring an exceptional guest experience, operational consistency, and safety during service. This role leads the Front of House team on shift by modeling Cerebral Standards, providing real-time coaching and decision-making support, and maintaining clear communication around quality, people, and operations.
Responsibilities & Duties
Service Leadership
- Lead bar staff by example, consistently modeling Cerebral Standards of hospitality, professionalism, and collaboration
- Provide real-time feedback, coaching, and guidance to support excellent service, proper technique, and adherence to quality and safety standards
- Maintain strong product knowledge and actively support elevated guest engagement and education around our beer
Guest Experience & Hospitality
- Create a welcoming, inclusive, and attentive environment for all guests from arrival to departure
- Actively engage with guests to understand their needs, preferences, and expectations, tailoring service when appropriate
- Ensure consistent service flow and pacing, balancing guest experience with operational demands
- Proactively identify and resolve potential guest issues before they escalate
- Calmly, respectfully, and effectively address guest concerns or service issues in alignment with Cerebral Standards
- Empower staff to confidently handle guest interactions while providing support when higher-level intervention is needed
- Ensure guests receive accurate information regarding beer offerings, events, policies, and safety guidelines
- Escalate significant, sensitive, or recurring concerns to the Hospitality Lead or Director of Hospitality as appropriate
Reservations & Events Execution
- Execute day-of reservations and events according to established SOPs and event details
- Ensure reserved spaces are properly set up, labeled, and communicated to staff prior to guest arrival
- Act as the primary point of contact for reservation and event hosts during the shift
- Coordinate timing, staffing, and service flow to ensure seamless integration of reservations and events into regular service
- Communicate any changes, delays, or guest needs to the Hospitality Lead and relevant team members
- Ensure private and semi-private events meet Cerebral Standards for hospitality, service quality, and safety
- Address and resolve reservation- or event-related issues in real time, escalating when necessary
- Confirm proper breakdown, reset, and documentation following events
Operations & Standards
- Ensure opening and closing checklists are completed accurately and on time
- Count and verify cash drawers at the beginning and end of each shift
- Ensure all SOPs, safety protocols, and compliance standards are followed throughout service
- Maintain Untappd menu updates during the shift according to SOP
- Troubleshoot operational issues as they arise, including but not limited to draft systems, outdoor heaters, power outages, CO2 alarms, and menu changes
Team Support & Communication
- Support the Hospitality Lead and Director of Hospitality with daily pre-shifts by:
- Communicating beer releases, events, and key service notes
- Sharing weather-related considerations and service strategies
- Providing feedback on bar operations and opportunities for improvement
- Ensure proper execution of public and private events during the shift
- Monitor team morale and wellbeing during service by checking in with staff needs, managing break timing, and supporting balanced in/out flow
- Address interpersonal conflicts respectfully and professionally, escalating when necessary
Quality Control & Reporting
- Communicate any quality control concerns or operational issues to the Hospitality Lead via Slack or designated communication channels
- Document and pass along any unresolved issues, follow-ups, or maintenance needs to the Hospitality Lead at the end of the shift

- Hourly rate: $16.27/hour plus tips
