12 Dec The Making of Uh Huh Honey

Denver Beer Festivus has fast become one of our favorite festivals of the year. Partly due to our ties to Denver off the Wagon but mostly because it’s just a rad time with fantastic beer. When we were invited to pour at Festivus this year, we knew who we wanted to collaborate with immediately. Matt Hughes, the Owner/Head Brewer of Goldspot Brewing has been a great friend to us for years and, lucky for us, he allowed us into his brewhouse for their 4th batch.

Goldspot Brewing

The beer we created with Goldspot is an American India Pale Ale brewed with Colorado wildflower honey and hopped extensively with the sexiest hops we could get our hands on – Galaxy, El Dorado, and Nelson Sauvin. Think Juicy Fruit gum, peach, apricot, and a touch of fresh cut grass. The grain bill was built to be very straightforward, composed of 2-Row, Biscuit, and Honey Malt for an improved perception of honey flavor.

Here are the beer’s specs:
ABV: 7.5%
IBU: 100
SRM: 8.4
Want the recipe? Shoot us an email and we’ll get it to you.

We had one hell of a time brewing with Matt and we couldn’t be more grateful for his hospitality. We’ll be pouring Uh Huh Honey at our station this Saturday and it will also be on tap at Goldspot when they open in a few short weeks. Go visit Matt. Tell him we sent you. Then drink a bunch of his beer.
